From M74 Southbound

Exit at junction 11. Take the second exit (straight over) at the roundabout as you come off the motorway. Follow the road past Happenden Services until you get to another roundabout. Take the first exit left to Uddington/Rigside. This will be signposted as the A70 to Edinburgh.

Once you have got onto the A70 by either means above follow this road for about 10 minutes until you get to the second Carmichael sign, past a small bridge, and turn right down this road. If you get to a set of traffic lights at the Hyndford bridge you have gone to far.

From Edinburgh via A70

Follow the signs on the A70 to Ayr until you get to the Hyndford bridge.

From Lanark via A72

Following the road up the high street you get to a set of traffic lights. Take the fork on the right, follow this road past Lanark train station until you get to a roundabout. Take the second exit and follow this road out of Lanark, past the race course (on left), go straight over the small roundabout at the auction house. At the next roundabout take the second exit right and this will take you to the Hyndford bridge.

Once you get to the Hyndford bridge, which is a single track bridge with traffic lights, go over the bridge and turn right. Follow the A70 up the hill and take the first turning on the left signposted to Carmichael.

Having turned down this road go past a farm house and two semi-detached flat roof cottages on the right. Continue on this road for about half a mile.  We are located on the right hand side down a single track. There is a sign by the gate at the road with Devonside on it.

Once you arrive please drive down the driveway, past our home, Devonside Cottage, to Devonside Bothy. Parking is available directly in front of The Bothy.
